after 14:14 The List and surprises

The 14:14 Picture Book Challenge ended on the 28th of February. Christie Wild worked like crazy to compile the links, picture books and elements of story all in one big post. Follow the link to look at it
http://christiewrightwild.blogspot.com/2014/02/pb-1414-in-2014-list-and-few-winners.html

THE LIST of the Top 10 Story Elements for Picture Books with all the books we participants read, reviewed and appraised on one or more of the elements during the last two weeks is here for you to browse through. All books on this list have been published within the last decade, from 2004 to 2014. Amazingly only one book appears twice. If you read picture books to your children or grandchildren or you are keen to write books for children, this could be a valuable list to peruse for ideas on how to structure your stories.

What an amazing list. I learned so many new things about story structure and had some incredible insights shared through the other participating writers. I was introduced to books I might never otherwise have known about because of the size of our planet. I belive I was the only Australian participating in Christie's challenge.

One very exciting thing I found out at 11pm yesterday was that I was the very fortunate recipient of the Grand Prize for participation in the 14:14 event.

GRAND PRIZE
***PB critique, Writer's First Aid and More Writer's First Aid by Kristi Holl, 2013 Book Markets for Children's Writers, and 30-minute phone consult with Julie Hedlund***
WINNER is... CECILIA CLARK
